Nashville home sales jump almost 20 percent in September

It remains a seriously good time to be a real estate agent in the Nashville metro area.

The Greater Nashville Association of Realtors released data Wednesday showing that the number of homes, condos and properties sold last month surged 19 percent. There were 3,122 closings last month, which is 500 more than in September 2013.

Better yet, median sales prices jumped as well, especially in residential deals.

Even more gains are looming: There were 3,049 sales pending when September ended. That’s 562 more than at that point in 2013 — a 23 percent increase.

Last month, the median single-family home sold for $211,400, the point at which half of home sales were smaller and half were larger.

That’s almost $16,000 more than the median from September 2013, an 8 percent gain.

In the third quarter, nearly every county in the market experienced more sales of homes, condos or both, according to Hagan Stone. He’s president of the GNAR and also an agent at Pilkerton Realtors.
