What is LiveSmart? – Part 5

We at The Jones Company want to help you better understand what makes our homes outperform others. Over the next few weeks, we will discuss some of the practices we use when building your new home to make it live up to our standard of LiveSmart.

So, I know we talk a lot about “Living Smart.” Which may leave you wondering, “What the heck does that mean, anyway?” Well, typically when you hear us use that term, we are using one simple term, “LiveSmart” to better explain the entire (sometimes complicated) package of items – which includes all of the superior construction techniques that go into our homes, making them more energy efficient.  All of these combined techniques, when used together, result in a home that is not only tighter and better built, but simply OUTPERFORMS other homes when it comes to how the home functions as a system.

Here are just SOME of the ways that “LIVING JONES” equates with “LIVING SMART.”  You will see a common thread – control of air leakage – throughout many of these items, but there is more to energy efficiency than that alone.

SUPERIOR CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES (What makes us different than those other guys!)

13)    Poured wall foundations – a vast majority of our homes feature poured wall foundations.  What does this mean to you?  Poured wall foundations are offered, at no extra charge to our homeowners, because they are simply a far superior method of foundation construction when compared to traditional methods.  They provide stability and are more secure due to reinforced steel bars that are inside a 6-10” solid thick concrete wall.  We use this type of foundation in many of our neighborhoods – for crawl space and basement type foundations.

For a better understanding of what a poured wall foundation is and what it looks like, watch our short Behind the Walls video.

14)    Motion Sensor Activated Closet and Pantry Lighting – this may seem like a small thing – but this feature is something that many of our homeowners RAVE about. We’ve all been there – you are carrying a full laundry basket into the laundry room (or out of it) and cannot reach the light. With motion sensor activated closet and pantry lighting in your Jones home – you don’t have to reach it. Plus – when you walk out and forget to turn off that light – no worries! What a simple but effective way to save money on your energy bill!

15)    10 Year Structural Warranty – Unlike most builders who contract out their warranty service, The Jones Company has an in-house warranty team to service you after you close on your home.  Unlike outside warranty providers, we know your home, we know all the factors involved in building it, and we can better diagnose and fix any problems that may arise, and can be there sooner.

I hope this has given you a better look into what steps The Jones Company takes in building you a LiveSmart home!
