The Jones Company: Over 90 Years of New Home Value and Innovative Home Design

You have many important decisions to make when buying a new home. The first and most important choice is to select a homebuilder you can trust. Your family deserves the peace of mind that comes from working with a builder that has longevity and a solid reputation of serving many other happy homeowners.

Howard Chilcutt & Ken Stricker

Building homes since 1927

The Jones Company story began in 1927 with the founder of The Jones Company, John E. Jones. In 1961 John’s son, Bob, purchased The Jones Company from his father. Bob Jones and his partner, Howard Chilcutt, led The Jones Company to much success, growing the company and building homes for over 15,000 families.

In 2003 Centex purchased The Jones Company’s St. Louis division from Bob and Howard. Then, in 2005 Howard founded Consort Homes in St. Louis. Ken Stricker, who was former President of The Jones Company in St. Louis, now serves as President of Consort Homes in St. Louis, and The Jones Company of Tennessee in Nashville, today. Today, The Jones Company of Tennessee is still owned by the Chilcutt and Jones families.

More Variety

The Jones Company offers a variety of home collections in all price ranges to meet diverse lifestyle needs, starting with the $200,000 “first move up” home to homes in excess of $600,000.

Known by our homeowners and others in the homebuilding industry for integrity and fair play, The Jones Company has built a reputation for “doing the right thing, and treating others with respect.” It is for this reason that many customers purchase two, three and even four Jones homes over their lifetime.

In demonstrating this mission, every Jones home is backed by a 1-10 Guarantee Program that provides a one-year warranty on workmanship and materials and a ten-year guarantee on major structural components.

Community Involvement

The company is proud to have a history of community involvement in the markets that we serve. Jones has been involved in Habitat for Humanity and many other local charities for many years. Through their involvement, over $130,000 has been raised for children’s charities during the past few years.

Our Mission:

To build innovative, well-designed, solidly constructed homes and communities that represent the best overall value in the market regardless of price range. “Value” to us means that we will strive to create communities in superior locations, and construct homes that are thoughtfully crafted using energy-saving practices – creating lasting value for our homeowners.
