Project Estimator


Create and maintain correct information required to create accurate budgets for pricing, starting, and building homes.


Estimating and Bidding:

Prepare estimates for all new plans, elevations and structural options.

Update all estimates and bids as necessary to reflect plan changes.

Update all estimates and bids as necessary to reflect transfers to new communities.

Update all estimates and bids to reflect changes resulting from field variances.

Manage all aspects of the bidding process, including maintaining vendor price files.

Assist Project Estimators with preparing lot-specific estimates as needed.

Information Management:

Create and maintain item numbers and pricing in the Purchasing system.

Assist with maintaining vendor/subcontractor lists for all current and upcoming communities.

Create and maintain all master plans/elevations in the Purchasing system.

General Duties:

Assist with margin review and analysis prior to all new plan, elevation or community roll-outs.

Perform field validation of all estimates.

Review and research variances on invoices and purchase orders received for payment.

Complete all other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift items weighing 50 lbs. or more.  Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.  Must be able to traverse uneven terrain.  Must be able to function in an exterior environment that includes extreme temperatures.  Must be able to process information visually and aurally.

The Jones Company is seeking an experienced neighborhood builder/construction superintendent to join our team.  This position oversees the construction process, and supervises the work of subcontractors as well as internal construction technicians within the builder’s assigned Jones Company community.  The builder is responsible for ensuring that each and every home is brought to closure within the established time schedules and budgets in accordance with The Jones Company’s quality standards while achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

At least 2+ years experience preferred.

Entry-level positions available in the Middle Tennessee area. Tennessee Real estate license and weekend work required. Persons must be motivated and have strong communication, organization and computer skills. This position has been designed to train individuals for onsite community new home sales. Individuals in this position start as an assistant to an onsite new home salesperson.
