Pumpkinfest to fill downtown Franklin with spooky fun

Princesses, monsters and superheroes are invited to celebrate Halloween in Franklin’s 31st annual Pumpkinfest.

Costumes are encouraged for all ages and pets, as guests enjoy live performances on two stages, shop from more than 80 arts booths, vote for the best carved pumpkin and groove in the community swing dance.

While little kids paint pumpkins, jump in inflatables and ride ponies, older kids can bungee jump, ride a mechani
cal bull and climb a
spider web mountain.

Guess the weight of the Great Pumpkin from Ontario for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Stroud’s Barbeque, and sample homemade chili for $10 at the Franklin Tomorrow Chili Cook-Off.

The free festivities occur from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 25 along Main Street from First to Fifth avenues, and on Third and Fourth avenues in Historic Downtown Franklin.

Parking will be available at Harlinsdale Park, 239 Franklin Road, and The People’s Church, 828 Murfreesboro Road, with $1 trolley rides. Details: www.historicfranklin.com/pumpkinfest, 615-591-8500
